We refer to this as an interview, not only for you to meet our team, but for our team to meet and understand your needs and desires for the site. This is the time to discuss dreams and realities. At this stage we will set the tone for the design through verbal and visual discovery.
An in depth analysis is a necessity for a well thought out design. This process records the existing conditions of the site, and helps determine stormwater and grading issues. Once a proper base map is produced, an analysis of existing trees and vegetation along with a scientific analytical approach in determining grading and stormwater corrections necessary. We will also determine site lines and areas of visual influence which together provide an indispensable base to which a design can develop.
As the design is a multi stage process, we begin with a conceptual design. This stage sets a visual for the site, allowing the client to see the design teams theories. From the conceptual design we then move to the preliminary stage. At this stage a more developed plan shows further insight into the design and a chance for the client and the design team to collaborate before the final design. With the final design a fully developed plan is presented for the client to accept. With the clients acceptance the design team moves forward with construction plans and documentation. At this time the design and plans are ready for the bid and installation process.
A exceptional design is a necessity to a quality installation. At Grey Leaf Design we can help manage the installation of the design ensuring quality, time and budget. This is done through bid review, site and material layout, nursery stock selection, site milestone inspections and a final walkthrough. Our design team will also aide with the procurement of site furniture, planters, appliances, and sculpture, ensuring those finishing touches are never overlooked.
